I know I've commented on this before, but I've just re-read it and remembered exactly why I love it.
The thing that holds interest for me in Louis and Lestat -- above all the other pairings -- is the sheer force of hatred and misunderstanding is only tempered by the love. It's so interesting and I love that, in this fic, Lestat lets rip.
Louis isn't perfect. He *is* puritanical and passive and constantly runs counter to Lestat's wishes. And yet, there is that love and attraction there. I love how it's laid out in this fic. Fantastic stuff.

This is, of all the many, many VC fics I have read over the years, one of my top three favourites. It's just everything I want in a post-Memnot fic. We have closure, we have Louis and Lestat beating the darkness of the earlier years, hilarious encounters with Lestat and Sybelle, Marius finally being put in his place and, of course, the wonderful Argus.
I regard this as more canon than the awful books which came after. I was so pleased to see it uploaded here. More people need to read this excellent fic!
