A Vampire's Night Out
By Anneke
This story is based on Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. All rights and characters are her's and I am using them as strickly a piece of fandom fiction.
Author's Note: I will not tell you what this story is about...But it takes place in the middle of IWTV. It's a day in the life of Claudia, Lestat, and Louis. (One of those Happy days together and what they did...) I call it silly...well It is at the end, you will see...
Lestat woke early and was the first one up in the house, out of the
three. Louis and Claudia waking together, however Claudia would usually wake
first, waking Louis in turn. Lestat got dressed in clothes of the finest
design, and he then went threw and chose the right outfits for Claudia and
Louis. To night they would go hunting and then to the opera.
Louis walked up the stairs, holding one of Claudia's little hands in
his, his other hand rubbing his eyes. Louis had the glory in the the evening,
his hair messed up, his shirt crumpled. These clothes suited him better then
all the finary. Claudia was different in the morning, she had that look of an
adult, before she would put on the lacy dresses and curls of the child's body.
Louis was soon dressed, and helped to lace up little Claudia. Lestat
knew the girl could have the servents do it, or she could do it herself if she
really tried, but she liked Louis. Lestat envyed that. She was suppose to be
both there daughter, but she was more Louis's then his. Or atleast that is how
Lestat saw it.
They walked down the road towards the opera. Lestat and Claudia
walking off one dirrection for dinner, Louis in the other. Louis loving to
hunt alone, hide his darkness from them. Perhapes he saw Claudia as the child
she looked like, and did not wish her to see such things. Claudia helped
Lestat that evening to get dinner. She walked out on the street alone.
Looking a scared child, in the slum district of town. A group of boys would
spot the beautiful child, in her lace and satin, and would start to follow.
Claudia running ahead into the alley, where Lestat and she would turn on the
boys. Together they walked out of the alley laughing abit. Meeting up with
Louis outside the Opera.
The opera house was small, and the acting was good. But there was more
tonight to do. Back at their house Louis was again teaching Claudia the proper
rules of etiquette, and use of table wear. Lestat the whole time rolling his
eyes. "She doesn't eat with a fork, why bother teaching her."
"So she may if she ever needs to."
"But she is not going to."
Claudia only smiled. "But I want to learn." her words hidding
thoughts of planning. She wanted to learn because Louis was teaching her.
Lestat had enough.
He quickly took Louis hand in his..."Come Louis let us not do this
tonight. Can we not do something else?" Lestat looked over at Louis mocking a
beg. Looking over at Claudia with a sweet smile. "I know...we can preform for
Claudia."
"Oh would you. Please." Claudia turning to Louis forgetting her
lessons. "My favorite if you would."
Louis sighed knowning they had won. "As long as I don't have to be..."
Lestat's grin cutting him off...
"Oh Louis, your wonderful, it's a much better roll for you then I."
Lestat mockingly cluching his heart as if hurt..."Oh please."
Louis nodded, as they where lead off into the lounge. There in the
lounge, Claudia sat on the sofa ready to watch. Louis got up on the stairs,
Lestat at the bottom...
Louis started with his lines from shakespeare... "Romeo, Romeo, where
forth art thou Romeo." his voice high and squeeky as Lestat waited. Claudia
giggling.
"Ah it is the east and Juliet is the sun."
"I'll deny my father and refuse my name, and I shall no longer be a
capulate. For what is a name, for it is not foot nor hand nor mouth nor any
other part belonging to a man."
And the scene went on. (*Sorry I don't have the actual play infront of
me...) Lestat playing the brave Romeo climbing the stairs to Louis the fair
Juliet. Lestat making a grand show of taking Juliet into his arms, and kissing
her/Louis. Claudia was out loud laughing.
Lestat looked up and grinned,
dropping Louis from his arms. Louis landing on the stairs with a thud.
"Lestat, that hurt."
This only made Claudia laugh more. And so was the happy life of Lestat
and Claudia and oh yeah Juliet...I mean Louis.
THE END
I got this idea from the line in TVL quoted here... "And why should I bother to
tell of the times he came to me in wretched anxiety, begging me never to leave
him, of the times we walked together and talked together, acted Shakespeare
together for Claudia's amusement..." Also .. "...Always the gentleman, even
teaching Claudia the proper use of table silver when she, bless her little
black heart, had not the slightest need ever to touch a knife or a fork."
These amused me so much..I had to do something with them...
