My Angel By Wicca (toniamcm@aol.com) Here's a spec I wrote. Spoilers Hmm....Not really sure? Nothing comes from any of the books ect a little line of info. So I guess VERY TINY spoiler for I believe QOTD. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~SPOILERS START HERE!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Angel Ah the night! It has finally come. Such dark bliss to unknowing mortals. I pity them. In love with our immortal nature, ready to give up all life to be like us. If only they knew. Ah, but this is not a story about me, Armand, but that of another's, whose path I have crossed. The one with the golden hair and blue eyes so dark they seem black at times. His perfectly sculpted features. His high cheek bones, his elegant and sensual mouth. He was such a beauty, much wiser than his 19yrs. His pain came from him in droves, so familiar to my own. No wonder I had to have him. I remember the first night I saw him. Walking up the stairs to his apartment, faded jeans clinging to him. Such a fine form. Holding two large sacks in each arm he fished through his pockets for the key that seemed determined to evade him. Finding this key he quickly placed it in the lock and went in. From where I was standing I could see in through the dingy windows. The room unkempt and filth lay everywhere. Pots and pans littered the sink and a grotesque fashion. Standing in front of the refrigerator door was a rather large man. To say that he was fat would have been an understatement. The man's white singlet t-shirt was covered with grease spots and his balding head reflected the light from the fridge. Disgusting seemed more appropriate a word to describe him. Soon my angel walked in. How he seemed so out of place. He belonged in a palace of fine jewels and silk not this "rat trap" as mortals would have described it. I can't tell you how long I stood there watching him. He was perfection and no one dead or alive could match his startling beauty. It seemed like hours before he spoke to the disgusting man in front of the fridge. Listening to my angel's thoughts I gathered names and data that would later prove useful to me. My angel's name was Raven and he lived in this rat trap with his sick mother and step-father. The large man apparently had that title. His name was Jeff and he had been with the family since Raven was a child. I could feel the hatred come from my angel as he looked at this man who was his father. Standing still, my auburn hair whipping around my face, I listened intently as they exchanged words. "So you're finally home. What took ya so long?" "Traffic. The freeway's been backed up all afternoon." "That still doesn't explain why your late." "I also got held up at work. Anyway here's the groceries I'm going to check on Mom." Raven then turned to leave the room but found Jeff blocking his way. "Where do you think you're going?" "I'm going to check on my Mother." Raven tried to make his way around the large man but was stopped by a large and rather filthy arm. "No you're not. You haven't spent any time with your father and I feel like spending some "quality time" with you tonight" Jeff leered at Raven as he slid his greasey hand down my angel's cheek. Rage engulfed me as I learned of Jeff's intentions. That night I vowed to rid the world of this vile creature and take Raven from this place. Leaving my station I dashed down the street in search of prey. I would feed quickly tonight not caring who I took down in my hunger or whether they wanted death or not. I had to get back to my angel, I had to set him free. I returned to the apartment a little after midnight and easily made my to his room. Standing quietly in the door way I found my angel huddled on the small mat. His hair tangled, his beautiful face covered in bruises. I wanted to run in and hold him so badly but I had other things that I needed to take care of first. I soon found Jeff passed out in an alcoholic stuptor. The sight of him enraged me once again. He had violated my angel and he was going to pay. I quietly advanced on the man. Slowly leaning over him, my curly hair tickling his face, I whispered in his ear. "Jeff, wake up. It's time for judgment." my voice was soft hypnotizing. "What?!? Who are you? What do you want?" Jeff said. his eyes roamed over me taking in the sight of me. I knew he'd be pleased. I was dressed for the occasion. My auburn hair neatly combed and my clothes were brand new. I had gone to great lengths to look just right, beautiful and innocent, seductive and savage. My brown eyes were alight with anticipation. This man simply had to go. "I'm Death and I've come to take you." Before he could respond I was on him. My teeth drove into his neck silencing his protest. The blood flowed out of him in waves. Through his blood I saw what was Jeff Maigins. Not only was he physically disgusting but mentally sick as well. He took pleasure in Raven's screams. He loved it when Raven cried and found it irresistible when Raven fought him. He was dead in minutes. I soon made my way back to Raven's room. He was still sleeping, exhausted from the fight. Tears still stained his cheeks, blood frozen just below his bottom lip. Quietly I seated myself next to his sleeping form. "Raven. Wake up." Soon enough those beautiful dark blues opened and fixed themselves on my face. "Who are you?" No fear laced in his voice. Strange that after all he'd been through tonight he was not afraid. "My name is Armand." I told him. A look a recognition crossed his face." So you know who I am. I see you have read the books. So I guess you know why I'm here." He only nodded. "I've come to take you away from here, to bring you too me so that you can be like me...." I stopped mid way through my rehearsed speech. Tears had welled up in his eyes and he gave me a look of such misery that I too wanted to cry. "What is it my angel?" "Die... I want to die." He finally choked out. "Die?" I was baffled at this. Why would one so young want death? Then I remembered my own suffering. How many nights had I prayed for the same release? Too much the coward to do it myself. "Is death what you really want?" I asked as I forced myself to look at him. "Yes." "What of your mother?" "She is already dead. She died about an hour ago. I called the hospital but no one has come yet." Raven said. He was calm now and in that instance I knew that this was what he truly wanted. A release from the pain. I had done this many times before but now I found it one of the hardest things I could have ever done. Lifting his head up so that our eyes met I spoke directly to his mind. "If Death is what you really want then I shall give it to you." Sobs once again racked his whole body as my teeth drove into his neck. His warm blood filled me as did his memories. As I drank I saw his whole life from the first violation to the good times he had spent with his mother before her illness had taken her. Slowly the life flowed out of him and his heart beat slowed and soon I found that I too was crying. Crying for my own lost innocence, my own horrors. Just before Raven's heart beat for the last time I pulled my teeth from his neck. Holding him I looked down into his eyes and found love there. He loved me and he didn't really know why. Smiling he looked into my eyes and spoke to the core of my being. "Thank you." He said. and then his eyes closed and they never opened again. Sitting there in the dim hours of the night holding his cold body I wept. I wept like I had wept when I could feel pain and love before I had lost. Looking back on that night years later I had done what I had come to do. I had set my angel free. Armand, Jan.11.1997
