Insatiable

“I see . . . and have you told Lestat about this yet?”

David’s soft and cultured voice danced in the air as he kept his warm eyes

fixed on his vampire brother before him. Louis had left the flat he shared with

Lestat and Merrick to join him at his own home in order to discuss something of

drastic importance. Something that the older vampire needed to tell.

“No, not as of yet,” Louis said. “I plan to tell him tonight, but you’re the

first one who knows, well other than Merrick of course.”

“Of course,” David replied.  “May I ask when you arrived at this conclusion?”

Louis sighed and looked at his brother closely.

“It is not something I “arrived” at David,” he said. “It is just something that

must be done. You know it, Merrick knows it . . .”

“But you do not think Lestat does,” David added. “Or you do not think he will

 understand.”

         Louis nodded.

“Yes, that is why I wanted to speak with you first.”

David lowered his eyes for a moment. This was most certainly an important

matter Louis had conveyed to him. Now that Louis had told him, he must go and

 face is maker with it.

“What would you suggest we do?” David offered.

“Nothing,” Louis said kindly but sternly. “David, you must not tell Lestat

about this or interfere in any way. This is something that I, and I alone, must

 do.”

“All right,” David said. “But if there is anything you need, anything at all

Louis, you do feel free to come to me, correct?”

         Louis smiled.

“Yes David,” he said. “And I thank you very much for always offering your help

 to me.”

With that, Louis stepped foreword and enfolded him.  Their embrace was long and

silent yet filled with the love that they had for one another. Their physical

strength virtually matched ever since Louis’ resurrection with Lestat’s

unmatchable blood. Louis pulled back after a few moments.

         “Good bye David,”

         “Good bye Louis.”

Louis turned his back and left David’s flat without another word, shutting the

door softly behind him.  The walk home to Rue Royale was forlorn and silent, yet

welcomed. Louis was noticing his surroundings like he’d done on the night he was

Born to Darkness. The way the leaves swayed in the tress, the way the plants

curled as they grew from the ground, the way the night was filled with

inescapable sound.  The soft light coming from the windows of the flat filled

him with a preternatural warmth and he soundlessly walked up the steps and

entered.  He immediately spied his fledgling on the couch directly to his left.

She was wearing a blouse of white silk and a smooth black skirt, her slender

legs crossed before her, feet bare as always. As soon as their green eyes met,

she stood and walked towards him, his arms welcomed her. For a moment she leaned

her slight weight into him and Louis buried his face in her free-flowing hair.

         “Did you tell him?”

         “Yes.”

         There was a small pause.

         “Have you told Lestat?”

“No.” he said softly. “But I shall, I just need time.”

Merrick smiled and pulled herself away from her maker.  She rested her slender

hand on the side of his face as she spoke to him.

“Take all the time you need Louis,” she said. “When you are ready, only then

 shall I be.”

         “Thank you Merrick,” Louis said.

She smiled and Louis leaned in and kissed her on the cheek. Merrick seemed to

become shy and she squeezed his arm before she walked away towards her personal

chamber. Louis stood alone in the room for a moment feeling, the maelstrom

within him resume churning with the absence of Merrick. Where was Lestat? Louis

quite suddenly remembered that his maker had been leaving for a walk shortly

after he’s arose that evening. Secretly, Louis wondered id Lestat had kept to

the vow he’d made almost a decade ago.  He had sworn that never again would he

 drink.

While Louis himself still required the blood, it did not gnaw at his as it once

did. He was now able to go many, many nights without feeling the all too

familiar hunger. Now he could read their minds with great ease and thus

determine the innocents from the guilty. Even then he could perform the “little

drink”, pulling back long before he’d drain the mortal, simply leaving him a

 little dazed.

It was addiction, a morbid addiction that he was curious to know if his maker

had been able to overcome.  But he would not question his maker on that matter

for it truly was not his place to ask. If Lestat wanted to tell him, there was

no doubt in his mind that he would. They had shared something amazing the night

they exchanged blood, closer and more comfortable with one another. For the

first time since he could recall, perhaps ever, they were truly at peace with

one another. Another reason why Louis had to speak with him immediately.

Louis turned his back and walked back out into the darkness. Lights from the

street aided him as he walked, despite the fact that his vampire eyes were

extremely acute, he was grateful for the comforting light.  Louis wasn’t sure

where Lestat was or where he would go, so he decided just to walk in hopes that

his maker would suddenly appear. So desperate he felt to tell him, he felt wrong

to have kept this from him for as long as he had, but he did not know what to

say, or perhaps he didn’t want to.

Then, he spied him. Lestat was standing facing him a distance away. When he saw

him, Lestat began walking towards Louis. They met one another half way.

         “Louis,” Lestat said.

         “Good evening Lestat,” Louis said,

“Have you come to join me?” Lestat asked with a hopeful glimmer in his eyes

 that hurt Louis a little.

Unable to say that he’d come only to talk with him, Louis answered “yes”.

“Well then,” Lestat said slipping an arm around Louis’ shoulder. “Let’s walk.”

Louis and Lestat walked together down the desolate street. Lestat’s arm was a

comfort to the younger vampire, but Louis could not reciprocate the action at

 the moment.

“It’s been a while since we simply walked together,” Lestat said putting a

 stress on the word together.

 “It has Lestat,” Louis agreed.

He heard Lestat sigh in content.

“Things have changed so much beautiful one,” he said. “And seldom to we get a

moment to simply speak with each other.  It worries me sometimes that I do not

know how you are after all that has past.”

Louis was startled by the sudden turn in the conversation. It was unlike Lestat

to express concerns so suddenly. He would only do it if his feelings were truly

 sincere.

 “How are you Louis?”

His concern was breaking Louis’ heart.

“I am well Lestat,” he said. “I am.”

 Lestat smiled gently.

“No,” he said. “I can tell you’re not. Perhaps you are on the outside, but you

should know that no veil of silence keeps me from knowing when things are not

 well with you.”

Louis lowered his eyes. He did know him so well.

“Yes Lestat,” he said somberly. “There is something that I need to tell you.”

Lestat’s face became black and he stopped walking. He knew from the tone of

voice Louis had used that this was not something that he was going to take

pleasure in hearing. Louis had stopped walking as well and had turned to face

 him. Then out it came.

“We’re leaving Lestat, Merrick and I.”

It seemed that Lestat did not hear him. His face was a perfect mask, no emotions

 showed whatsoever.

 “You’re leaving?” he questioned.

 “Yes,” Louis answered.

Lestat lowered his eyes and shuffled his feet like a student about to receive

his SAT scores. When he looked back up, his eyes were cloudy.

 “For how long?”

“I’m not sure,” Louis said, “A while.”

“ ‘A while’,” Lestat repeated. “Why?”

Louis was getting more and more uneasy with each passing second. He wished that

this were all over and done with.

“We need time Lestat,” Louis said. “Merrick and I need time together alone.”

 Lestat’s eyes sharpened at that.

 “What about us Louis?”

 “What about us?”

“We have not had time to ourselves, to reflect, since it happened,” Lestat

began. “I cannot remember the last time we were alone in the flat together.

You’re always with Merrick or David or perhaps you just do not want to be with

 me . . .”

“No Lestat,” Louis interrupted. “It’s not like that at all. And please do not

play this as if it were my fault, I do not remember you ever coming to me in

 attempts to talk.”

Lestat looked away, placed his hand on his hips, and paced for a few feet.

“Regardless, you’re going away from me to be alone with her now, and we’ll grow

 further apart again.”

“That is not what I want Lestat,” Louis said. “How can I make you understand

 that we simply need this?”

“You can’t,” Lestat replied. “You and I need this more then you she, and I know

that you know that. What I don’t understand is why you can’t face the truth.”

“Lestat we’ll have our time with one another, just not now.”

“But why Louis? My God do the things we’ve been through mean nothing to you?”

“Of course they do Lestat, and I want with all my being to have this time with

you, but Merrick is my fledgling.”

 “And I’m your maker.”

Louis broke his gaze with him and looked into the empty night around them.

Lestat was beginning to grow angry, it seemed that Louis would not listen to

simple reason. Hadn’t her spell worn off yet? Then again, Louis had never

believed magic was the true source of his attraction towards her.

“Lestat please,” Louis pleaded. “I need you to understand.”

“I don’t know if that is possible Louis.”

“Lestat,” Louis said. “I will come back. This is not forever, and we have all

the time in the word n’est-ce pas?”

“I’m starting to doubt that Louis,” Lestat said.

Louis resumed his eye contact with him.

“I will come back Lestat, I swear to you, I’ll come back and then we shall have

all the time in the world.”

“What if we don’t? Perhaps you won’t come back, perhaps I’ll leave and won’t

want to return or perhaps we just won’t want to be together any longer.”

It seemed Louis had no response to that. Lestat allowed his words to sink in

before he asked the one question that he had been dreading.

 “When do you leave?”

 “Tonight,” Louis answered.

“Tonight!” Lestat yelled back in disbelief. “You’re leaving tonight and you’re

 just now telling me?”

Lestat was wounded that he’s only just been informed of this. Wasn’t he worth

more than a few moments notice?

“I’m sorry Lestat,” Louis said. “I wanted to tell you but I feared your

 reaction.”

“’Feared my reaction’?” Lestat repeated. “Louis, what were you afraid of?”

“That you would dedicate every last moment to trying to convince me to remain

here when your efforts would be futile. Our last moments together cannot be like

 that, I care about you.”

“Obviously not enough,” Lestat retorted. “You’d put your time with that witch

 ahead of us.”

Louis’ face went blank and Lestat somewhat regretted saying that.

“Merrick is my fledging and I love her Lestat.”

Funny the way he said that, Lestat thought. Almost like he loved her because she

 was his fledgling.

“Oui, je suis désolé,” he replied, slipping into their old familiar language.

“This is difficult for me Louis.”

“Oui, je sais, mais Lestat . . .”

Lestat waited for him to go on, but he really didn’t need to. He knew what he

 was going to say.

 “I know Louis,” he said. “ ‘I must understand’ . . . but I can’t Louis. You mean

too much to me to simply accept you’re sudden walking out of my life.”

Louis bowed his head and closed his eyes.

“I don’t understand,” Lestat continued. “but I must accept it n’est-ce pas?

Louis, I wish I knew why you’d leave with her but not me, I wish I knew why

after everything we’ve been through together you chose her over me.”

“Non, c’est pas vrai,” Louis said. “Lestat how can you think that?”

“How can I not,” Lestat said raising his voice. “Mon Dieu, you spend all your

time with her and now you’re leaving to do more of the same.”

“Lestat, I told you,” Louis said in a meek voice. “I must do this. It is not

 forever.”

“It might as well be,” Lestat said.

Lestat did not want to hear anymore. He turned his back on his fledgling and

quickly vanished somewhere into the night. Louis was left alone not having a

single notion as to were he’d gone or when he’d be back. His maker’s reaction

went as he’d imagined it would, his infamous temper had reared its head and

blocked the way for any true reason.

While he expected this to happen, it saddened him unbearably now that is had

occurred. He did not want to part ways with Lestat like this.  He wanted, he

needed, for there to be peace between them before he left. Unable to do anything

else, Louis headed back to Rue Royale to await his return.

When Louis arrived home was met with desolation. Immediately he knew no one was

home, even Merrick had gone out. The flat was entirely empty save for his lone

presence.  Louis walked over to the long couch covered in black leather and laid

full-length down upon it. He could feel his muscles relaxing as the tension

seemed to melt into the smooth material. His mind was replaying the past event

with Lestat over and over again; horrible he felt that it had gone that way, but

not surprised. His eyes closed and Louis felt them fill with the thick liquid of

 the vampire’s tears.

The deliberate sound of the door opening caused him to reopen his newly closed

eyes and struggle to wipe away the tears rising within them.  Louis looked up

and saw David and Merrick come in. Both of them had the same telltale signs of

crimson in their eyes. Their arms were locked around each other, so close they

were. Louis had not pondered upon the effect that his leave with Merrick would

have on David. They had been so incredibility close in life. Unable to keep the

silence in the room, Louis spoke.

         “Bonsoir.”

Merrick smiled in immediate response and Louis was very happy to note that

 David did the same.

The two exchanged an affectionate look before David went out the door and

Merrick went to Louis who immediately sat up and offered her a seat next to him

on the long couch.  The young vampire sat at his side.

“You and David have said your good byes?” Louis inquired.

Merrick gave a sort of sad smile and nodded.

“Yes,” she answered. “It will be difficult being away from him but it’s

something that needs to be for a while.”

Merrick turned so that she could look at her maker. Louis was resting his

elbows on his knees and gazing down at the floor.

“You haven’t yet told Lestat?” she asked gently.

         Louis breathed in deeply.

“No, I have,” he admitted. “It just did not end well. It did not end the way it

 needs to.”

Louis raised his head and looked at her. Merrick’s long hair was braided and

the delicate twine almost reached her waist. Her eyes were shinning and were a

wonderful compliment to her newly paled skin. It was her beauty that has

astounded him in the very beginning.

“Merrick,” he began. “I cannot leave until things are right between Lestat and

 myself.”

         She smiled softly.

“I know, my love,” she answered as she reached up to stroke the side of his

face. “You must take all the time you need. I am ready when you are and not a

 moment sooner.”

At that precise instant, Louis took notice of Lestat standing in the doorway.

He was unaware of how long he had been there but that was irrelevant.  It only

mattered that he was there. Almost instantly Merrick rose and after gently

squeezing Louis’ hand, walked away and towards the back doors of the flat.

Lestat watched her go as if he believed she wound not. When Lestat heard the

back doors softly open and then carefully shut he walked a little closer to

Louis who remained on the couch.

“I was thinking,” Lestat began. “About that time before my concert when you

came to me and I told you that when we were warm and comfortable with one

another again we would be able to truly talk.  But we haven’t really been

comfortable with one another have we Louis?”

Louis was unable to speak, he just looked upon the powerful vampire before him

 with kind eyes.

“As much as I am dismayed by that fact, I am revived when I reflect that there

has always something between us Louis. A level of trust, that sometimes I find

to be unbelievable, excerpted from you.”

Louis’ could feel his emotions rising with each word Lestat spoke.

“When I wanted to go to London to bother The Talamasca, you came along. You put

yourself in my hands and trusted me with you back when I could have destroyed

 you with a mere thought.”

Lestat began to pace slowly around the room as he continued to speak.

“It’s not only trust. When I was in my long slumber, I could sense when you

would come and simply sit at my side, speaking to me gently and standing guard

for my sake, protecting me.  And all the while I did not speak, yet you remained

loyal at my side. You even came to live with me after I took my vengeance for

your will out one your home.”

Unable to remain seated any longer, Louis stood and walked towards him as

 Lestat continued.

“All those times you’ve showed your level of commitment to me and tried to

bring us closer together and often at your own discomfort.  I know you think

that leaving with Merrick is for the best for all of us, and it’s my turn to

 believe, to trust in you”

Lestat suddenly stopped pacing and walked towards Louis so that the two were no

 more than a foot apart.

“And I’m going to,” he added.

Louis didn’t know what to say; he was overcome. Instead he just opened his arms

and for the first time, Lestat gave into them. Tightly, Louis embraced his maker

and in return Lestat locked his arms around him. They were silent for a long

moment, each of them just being with the other.  Louis feeling Lestat’s hair

under his fingers as one of his hands cradled his head. Louis brought Lestat’s

head down ever so slightly so that he could kiss his forehead. Lestat clasped

each side of his face and pulled him closer until their foreheads touched.

Somehow, there was a physical warmth in their embrace.

“You will come back?” Lestat questioned.

“Yes,” Louis said, his voice was tight when he spoke and Lestat could smell the

 blood in his eyes.

Lestat’s fingers were playing with the soft raven hair just above his ears.

Louis relaxed under the touch of Lestat’s fingers massaging the flesh covered by

his thick black hair. He closed his eyes and concentrated on that feeling.

Lestat pulled back a little so that he could look into his face; Louis eyes

 opened and sapphire met emerald.

“I cannot witness you leaving with her,” he said softly.

Louis nodded in understanding. The hand on the side of his face tightened a

little as Lestat drew him to himself again. Their lips met in a moment of

perfect and pure tranquillity. Their kiss was bittersweet, filled with a

sorrowful and wounded love. Louis pulled back after a long moment and again

looked into Lestat’s eyes. They gazed at one another for a moment frozen in time

before Lestat turned his back and slowly walked out into the empty night. Louis

bowed his head and struggled to win his internal battle with emotion. Soon after

Lestat had left, his felt a slender arm come around his waist and he turned to

find his fledgling standing directly next to him. She reached up and lovingly

 stroked his hair.

         “Are you all right?”

Louis could not answer her. Inside the battle was becoming a war and he was

trying with a silent desperation to ignore it.

“Do you wish to be alone?”

Louis solemnly nodded his head and Merrick stood on tiptoe to kiss him on the

side of his face. Without saying a word, she left him alone and went to her

chamber. The room seemed terribly cold to Louis suddenly and he felt the thick

liquid slide down from his eyes and he cleared it with a swipe of a delicate

hand. He knew he could not muse on Lestat because he felt it could very well

destroy him. Clearing his eyes again he went to Merrick’s room and upon reaching

the door, gently knocked on it. When her soft voice bade him enter he did so.

Like a shadow he came into her line of vision.

“Collect your things,” Louis said. “It is time to leave.”

Lestat continued his walk through the night without purpose or direction. He

just needed to be far away to insure that he did not have to witness his most

beloved leave him behind. No, he’d rather return to an empty flat than suffer

that. So completely destroyed he felt on the inside that Louis should decide

upon this when he knew there was an amazingly real chance that they could truly

be with one another, as they never had in the past.

They had exchanged blood after all. Louis had finally consented to take his much

more powerful life fluid, even if it was under the most drastic of

circumstances. The horrible veil between master and fledging had been lifted for

those extraordinary moments and Lestat saw firsthand the love for himself that

he had always known Louis to harbor. It went without question that he shared the

 same feelings for him.

Interesting in that all Louis seemed to be thinking of was him with not one

solitary thought for Merrick. But under the particular state of affairs, that

was not so unbelievable. The blood exchange is an incredibly intimate and

personal experience, especially when performed by two vampires. Not difficult to

understand why their thoughts would be only of their immoral paramour.

As Lestat walked deeper into the night, he was quite suddenly distracted by a

slight female laughter.  He turned to spy a young woman on the arm of her lover

as they exited a small club. He watched with keen eyes as the couple went

towards their car and then Lestat headed towards the club itself. He felt a

sudden need to be encased within warmth, and the small, confidential club seemed

 to be beckoning to him.

The inside was as he expected it. A moderately sized building, a little over two

dozen places to sit and in the middle of it all, a large flat floor that couples

danced on together. Lestat settled himself in a seat amid the shadows in the

back. The room, which had been only dimly lit, was now alive with dancing beams

of purple and blue light. A soft melody began and he watched as more couples

went to the floor and some left to return to their seats.

One pair in particular seemed to be quite excited that the new song had begun,

it no doubt held a special significance for them.  As the couples fondly held

each other on the floor, Lestat kept his eyes on that eager pair as they

embraced. The soft music was now being accompanied by an angelic voice. Very

soft and light that voice was, but somehow distinctly masculine.

When moonlight crawls along the street,

 Chasin’ away the summer heat,

 Footsteps outside somewhere below,

The world revolves I let it go.

Lestat’s eyes were intently focused on that one couple. Their slender bodies so

close to touching yet not quite making contact. The man had his arm around the

woman’s waist and in turn her hand was resting on the curve of his shoulder.

Their free hands were entwined together and remained straight down and close to

them.  They looked at one another with unbridled love as they gently swayed

 together.

We build our church above the street,

We practice love between these sheets,

The candy sweetness scent of you,

It bathes my skin I’m stained in you.

They were talking softly to each other. The woman laughed quietly, pleased by

something the man had told her. He was smiling at her, eyes illuminated with

love and adoration. Such a beautiful pair they were. They seemed to have been

 truly created to dance together.

And all I have to do is hold you,

There’s a racing within my heart,

And I am barely touching you.

Perfection. They both looked to be about the same height. The man’s hair was a

well-kept mop of blond strands. The woman had reddish hair full of spiral curls

that very nearly reached her waist. They both had eyes the color of ashen steel

and pale skin coated their lean bodies.

 Turn the lights down low,

 Take it off,

 Let me show,

 My love for you insatiable.

As the lyrics continued to progress in its languid rhythm, their positions

changed.  The man had both of his arms around her waist now and the woman had

her arms locked around his neck. Their foreheads pressed together and their

silver eyes closed. The woman’s slender arms were a sharp contrast to the man’s

well-muscled ones, yet they both welcomed the strength of their partner’s

 embrace.

 Turn me on,

 Never stop,

 Wanna taste every drop,

 My love for you insatiable.

Lestat leaned back a little in his seat but his eyes never wavered from them.

The woman pulled herself closer so that now their bodies seemed one. The man

pulled his forehead away from hers in order to rest it in the smooth curve of

her neck and she did the same. Their feet were barely moving due to their almost

 unbelievable proximity.

The moonlight plays upon your skin,

A kiss that lingers takes me in,

I fall asleep inside of you,

There are no words there’s only truth.

Their hands were roaming now. One of the woman’s delicate hands was running

through his hair. In response the man was slowly moving both his hands up and

down her back. Smiles played upon both of their lips, but they had stopped all

verbal conversation. The man’s lips moved slightly to plant a small kiss on her

 neck.

Breathe in breathe out there is no sound,

We move together up and down,

 We levitate our bodies soar,

Our feet don’t even touch the floor.

The song was becoming deeper still and the two mortals were growing more and

more intimate. They pulled back simultaneously and resumed their eye contact.

Then coincidentally they drew in towards each other and shared a sweet kiss as

their lips caressed one another.  Slightly, they pulled back then seemed to

decide against it and their mouths connected again.

But nobody knows you like I do,

‘Cause the world they don’t understand,

But I grow stronger in your hands.

The world around them had vanished and they were the only two people in the

universe. Memories of the previous night were being projected now by both of

them. Lestat doubted if he could even block them out, the feelings were so

strong, but for some reason he welcomed the thoughts of love. That couple

dancing in each other’s arms lived only for the other and until this night,

Lestat had not known such a love existed. Or, as the case may be, was able to be

 broken.

 Turn the lights down low,

 Take it off,

 Let me show,

 My love for you insatiable.

Their kiss had ended and when they pulled back, it was only long enough to take

in a breath before they were joined again. Their thoughts and memories of a

lustful night of love were growing vibrant. Both of them were recalling the

 previous night they’d shared together.

 Turn me on,

 Never stop,

 Wanna taste every drop,

 My love for you insatiable.

That night had been a celebration, an anniversary, of their union. Together

they had lit dozens of tiny candles all around their dwelling. The man gave the

woman and bouquet of red roses he’d chosen for this night. Gently, he’d selected

one of the scarlet blossoms and placed it in the woman’s free-flowing hair

before they walked back to their bedroom together.

 Turn the lights down low,

 Take it off,

 Let me show,

 My love for you insatiable.

The bedroom had been lit as they’d lit the rest of their home. Tiny pillars of

varied colors of wax each with their own tiny flame were rampant. They stopped

before their bed and undressed one another slowly, enjoying little embraces and

kisses as they did. Words of a never-ending love were whispered as they fell

back on the bed together and made love deep into the night.

 Turn me on,

 Never stop,

 Wanna taste every drop,

My love for you is insatiable, baby.

Back into the present Lestat came. Every inch of their bodies were touching as

they continued their rhythmic dance. Heartbeats were rising, passions soaring.

Their lips met again and again and with each encounter the kisses became more

fervent. Tiny sounds of pleasure were softly coming from them now and their arms

were wound around the other even more tightly.

We never sleep we’re always holding hands,

‘Kissin for hours, talkin’, making bliss,

I feel like a better man,

Just being in the same room.

Lestat wondered if any others in the small nightclub were taking notice of

them. But looking around it seemed highly implausible as everywhere he looked,

others were in the same state.  Hands entwined, hearts throbbing, bodies

connected. It hurt him more then he himself could even comprehend to think that

perhaps at this very moment, Louis was departing from him for an unknown period

 of time.

We never sleep there’s just so much to do,

So much to say, can’t close my eyes,

 When I’m with you,

Insatiable the way I’m loving you.

For the first time since he entered, Lestat pulled his eyes from the couple and

lowered his head. The purple and blue beams were still commencing to soar around

the room and though the lusty air. Lestat soon found himself fighting back the

tears that were hounding him quite strongly. He ran his hands though his hair

and fought them with the best of his ability.

 Turn the lights down low,

 Take it off,

 Let me show,

 My love for you insatiable.

Unable to remain there any longer, Lestat rose and slowly began walking back

towards the entrance.  On the floor, the man and woman were still kissing as

though they had not seen each other in centuries. Lestat shuddered as he

repeated that thought in his head. Not seen each other in centuries.

 Turn me on,

 Never stop,

 Wanna taste every drop,

My love for you it’s insatiable.

He continued to gradually walk through the thick air, as if he could not will

himself to move faster. He closed his mind from the passionate mortal thoughts

that were flying with the soft purple and blue lights around the club.  He cast

another glance back at that couple. No doubt in his mind that their night would

not end when they left this cabaret. Each other them so eager to share their

 love with their paramour.

 Turn the lights down low,

 Take it off,

 Let me show,

 My love for you insatiable.

While he could escape their thoughts now, their sudden whispers were

unavoidable to his sensitive ears. He listened as they confessed their unending

and unconditional love and devotion before their mouths connected again. Unable

to hide her happiness, the woman smiled into their kiss and they broke away and

 laughed a little.

 Turn me on,

 Never stop,

 Wanna taste every drop,

My love for you it’s insatiable baby.

He tuned his head from them and his cold hands found the door. In the corner of

his eye, he could still see those purple and blue beams as he walked out of the

club. That hopelessly romantic song followed him as he walked down the street

and back towards Rue Royale. Alone.

 When I look in your eyes . . .

 Insatiable . . .

 The way I’m loving you . . .
