"They're giving me a headache."
"Join the club."
"I think I liked him better in the comatose state."
Marius, Santino and Maharet sighed. Jesse yawned. She prepared to doze off on the couch. Sybelle and Benji stared at the others, then continued hearing the events on the next room, terribly annoyed that their peace had been shattered because of an unexpected visitor.
"How can you sleep with all that rattle?" Maharet asked Jesse.
"I'm tired," Jesse replied. "'sides, like there's another choice?" She tugged a cushion under her head and closed her eyes.
Suddenly there was a sound of a loud crash. Jesse jumped from the couch. Maharet gasped. Some of the shattered pieces of whatever had been smashed against the wall from the next room now lay sprawled on the floor where they all gathered.
"Fuck those two, I'm out of here!" Jesse cursed.
"Jessica!" Maharet scorned. "Sit down! Nobody's leaving here." Jesse sat back on the couch propping her head on her elbow.
"Oh, no! Not another one!" Marius whined. He was almost afraid to pick up the pieces of the antique base. Santino changed positions on his seat.
"Priceless?" He asked. Marius sobbed. He carefully started to collect all the pieces.
Suddenly Armand came storming into the room soon followed by a stamping blonde vampire.
"Come back here, you! I'm not finished yet!"
"I've heard enough!" Armand hurled around to face an indignant Lestat.
"That's for me to decide! I've had it with you, imp! And don't think I've forgotten you tried to drain me!
"Oh for…." Armand rolled his eyes. "I wanted to know the truth! That's the only reason why I did it!"
"Hah!" Lestat spat. "You've always envied my powers. You little piece of shit!"
"Hey!" Benji protested. He stood up from his seat. "Leave Armand alone. Nobody asked you to come and disturb our quiet peace!"
"Shut up, runt! I'm not talking to you!"
"Don't call him runt!" Sybelle intervened.
"Don't get me started on you!" Lestat pointed at her. "You basket case!"
Santino burst into laughter. Sybelle and the others looked at him. Santino cleared his throat and excused himself.
"Lestat, that's enough!" Maharet ordered. "What ever gave you the idea that you could come here and interrupt our meeting to erupt a fight with Armand and insult Marius' fledglings?"
"Why don't you ask the imp that same question?" Lestat said.
"Well, Armand?" Maharet asked him.
"What?!" Armand folded his arms. "I crashed into his car the other night. So what?"
"Is that all?" Jesse asked incredulous. "Damn it, Lestat! Get on with your life!"
"He crashed my car!" Lestat cried out.
"Soooo?" Jesse retorted. "Anyone can crash. Hell, I crash all the time!"
"Against a parked car?" Lestat folded his arms. Jesse furrowed a brow.
"You mean your car was parked?"
"I mean he did it on purpose!!" Lestat blurted. "And the idiot stepped on it to escape. He thought I didn't recognized him."
"I didn't know it was your car!" Armand explained. "I bumped into it by mistake!"
"Mistake my ass!" Lestat snarled. His jaw dropped when he recognized Armand's garment. He sneered. "Why you…I don't remember lending you my jacket!" He headed towards Armand. "Give it back!" He tugged at the black leather jacket.
"It's mine!" Armand protested.
"No wonder I never could find it!" Lestat said. "How come you have it?"
"Fuck you!" Armand cursed. He pushed Lestat. Lestat growled and flung back at Armand.
"ENOUGH!" Maharet cried, but nothing happened. She sat back tiredly next to Jesse.
"Oh no," Sybelle said. "Now how are we going to stop them?"
Marius ran to the telephone.
"What are you doing?" Santino asked.
"An emergency call." Marius answered. Maharet creased her brows.
"911?" she asked. "What do you expect them to do?"
"Not 911." Jesse told Maharet.
"Hello? Yes! This is an emergency!" Marius cried. He flung the phone to the air in the direction of the fighting vampires. Lestat's screams and Armand's growls were easily perceived by it. Marius talked back into the phone. "Did you hear?…Help us!" He hung the phone. Then he hurried and sat next to the others.
"Jesse, time him." He said. Jesse looked at her watch. Sybelle and Benji wondered what Marius and the redheaded vampire, Jesse, were doing.
Lestat was still pulling at Armand's jacket. "And….if you….ever….come near my-" he grunted when suddenly his cell phone rang. He stepped away from Armand breathlessly to answer it.
"YES?!" He hissed into it. His expression changed abruptly into a concerned one, his tone of voice diminished into a soft purr. "Non, mon amour. C'est pas vrai. It was just a little argument between friends. No, I was not. Yes…yes, mon coeur. Whatever you say, please don't get mad at me. I'm sorry. Je t'aime. Oui….oui. No more, I promise. Yes, I'll be right there. Je t'aime beacoup. Smooch… smooch…smooch." Lestat made the kissing sound to the cell phone. "Au revoir, mon coeur. Smooch." He shut close the cell phone and looked at the others with an extremely serene face.
"Well, I'm leaving. Sorry I came in here and disturbed all of you," Lestat said.
"Jesse, time?" Marius asked. Jesse looked again at her watch.
"New record!" she said aloud.
"I'm impressed," Santino said.
"Remarkable." Maharet agreed. "Why didn't I think of that?"
"I can always get a new car, can't I?" Lestat grinned. Sybelle and Benji narrowed their eyes at him. "Well, so long. Oh, by the way, you can keep the jacket, Armand." He stepped out of the house into the night.
Armand snorted and stood up. "It's mine, you idiot!" he shouted, but his words went unheard as Lestat drifted into the air. He dusted his garments. "Damn him. I'm glad I wrecked his stupid car!"
"Armand, did you or did you not do it deliberately?" Maharet asked.
"What?! I did not!" Armand scowled.
"Then why did you run away from it? You must've known it was his."
"Only after I hit it did I realize it was his. No-one else has those foolish car plates."
