Spoilers for IwV, maybe.

This is dedicated to Lestat, in hopes that he will someday understand his late daughter.

"So did you feel it -
The bullet that tore you apart?
And did you notice
The final futile beat of your heart?
And did you reach down
To try and dry the tears as they learned
Beloved son and loving husband
Would never return?
And were you saved
By the prayers offered up in your name?"
—Jed Davis, Hell is a Place

Revue,

I am in Hell.

I do not say this bitterly, only to convey the truth.

Lestat does not see this. Of course, Lestat sees little beyond his own eyes. I truly believe that he does not realize how terribly we are living.

Louis is beginning to see it, but I do not think he realizes it for what it is.

Hell is a place that never changes. Hell is a place where no one sees another’s troubles, and are blind to their own folly. Hell is a place where nobody is interested.

This is Hell, and only I see it.

I wonder if Louis will ever rebel against Lestat. The answer I find saddens me. No, Louis can kill, but he cannot hurt. So desperately human. So tragically human.

Hell is a place were you need to believe you are more than flesh and bone. Hell is a place where father and daughter avoid meeting eachother’s eyes, for fear of what truths they will learn.

Votre peu brûlé poupée,
Claudia
