Aurelia (Latin) "golden" Mythological: the goddess of the dawn

"Aurelia!" a familar voice called up the stairs. The girl glanced out her window, only to see her friends waving up at her. She sighed and
began to dig through her closet in search of her brand new black leather jacket. They were early. Again.
"AURELIA!" the voice came again.
"Coming mother," she muttered, spying her jacket all the way in the back. Wading through ankle deep laundry, she retrieved the leather
garment, carefully putting it on as if it would break. She stopped to admire herself in the mirror, when she realized she wasn't wearing any
shoes.
"Aurelia, NOW!" her father bellowed.
"Just a sec!" she shouted back, tying her shoe and running a brush through her long blonde hair. Quickly, she reapplied her lip gloss,
jammed her money into her front pocket, and dashed down the stairs.
"Bye daddy," she said sweetly, grabbing the $20 out of his hand and rushing out the door. She waved at him over her shoulder and climbed
in the backseat, groaning to hear that "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" was blaring on the radio for about the zillionth time that day.
"Hey 'Lia, don't you just lo~ve this song," Sydney said rolling her eyes. Aurelia stuck her tounge out at her red haired, hazel eyed friend.
"I heard that Jeremy!" she said, smacking him lightly on the arm.
"Oh God, here we go again," Gio muttered, giving Aurelia a quick kiss.
"What are you talking about?" she asked innocently.
"Oh, come on 'Lia, you know how Sydney and Jeremy always fight just so they can make up," Bailey said from the front seat, handing 'Lia
a piece of Grape Bubble Yum.
"Don't remind me," Casey said, adjusting the mirror," I almost got pulled over because Syd flashed a cop." Aurelia laughed and adjusted
herself on Gio's lap, wishing they had taken two cars as Jeremy elbowed her in the ribs while "fighting" with Sydney. The rest of the way
to the club was pretty uneventful, except for Aurelia and Bailey singing along with every song on the radio like a couple of drunken school
girls, but that was nothing out of the ordinary. After about 15 minutes of this, Casey pulled up to The Inferno, his favorite club. Everyone
piled out of his Ford Explorer, grateful to be out in the cool night air. Once inside, the guys headed over to the bar, but somehow ended up
in front of the stage, not like the fact that Bailey's favorite local band was playing had anything to do with it.
"'Lia, I'm going over to the bar with Jer to get a drink, alright?" Gio said absently.
"No you're not. Remember what happened last time I let you wonder over to the bar? You and Jer got in that fight and we had to bail your
asses out of jail."
"Aw, c'mon 'Lia, just one drink, he'll be with me," Jeremy said, grabbing her around the waist.
"That's what I'm afraid of," sah muttered, shoving him off and stalking off to talk to Bailey and Sydney.
"Women," Jeremy shrugged, shoving Gio towards the bar. He brushed him off and joined Aurelia and the rest of the group. "Hey, what up
G?" he called after him, as the crowd pushed him away from their circle. He caught Sydney's eye before he was completly out of sight and
winced as he heard her yell his name.
"JERMY!" she screamed again and this time he caught a flash of red hair darting between the people. "Jeremy," sah said sharply,
grabbing his hand and dragging him back towards the stage, all the while explaining the importance of staying sober and how he had better
behave himself unless he wanted to sleep alone tonight. He apologized under his breath and they returned to the clique, the happy, peppy,
horny couple Aurelia had always known and loved. Gio was talking about the game, Bailey was infatued with the band setting up, and
Sydney and Jeremy were making out, as usual. Aurelia sighed, leaned against the front of the stage, and scanned the crowd.
"Oh yeah, 23 years old and I get my thrills people watching. Yes ladies and gentlemen, I've got it all," Aurelia said to herself, shifting her
eyes from one drunken couple to the next. She had just finished mentally critiquing a drag queen who was NOT working that yellow mini
and green halter top, when she saw him. He was dressed in all black, tight pants, tight shirt, long overcoat, dark glasses. He smiled at her,
something wasn't quite right with it, it gave her the chills. Slowly he turned and suddenly she felt a mind-boggling impulse to follow him, and
being the curious sort, she did.
"Hey 'Lia, where you goin'?" Gio asked grabbing her hand.
"I-I-I have to, to go to the bathroom," she stammered, dissapearing into the sea of people.
"Weird," Casey said under his breath as he watched her go. It was the last time he saw her. Well, technically.
Part 2
Aurelia (Latin) "golden" Mythological: the goddess of the dawn
Give Me Your Eyes
Give Me Your Eyes.
I do not ask to touch
The hands of you, the mouth of you,
Soft and sweet and fragrant though they be.
No, lift your eyes to mine;
Give me but one last look
Before I step forth forever;
Even though within that moment's crashing space,
I shall know all of life and death heaven and hell

Aurelia:
Reaching the door, Aurelia stopped, torn between Gio, the only man she had ever loved, and the mysterious one who silently called to her
even now. //Upon rising seek thy have not in places of light. Embrace not the Sun, Fear not the Night// It repeated over and over in her
mind, a hypnotic rhythm drawing her away, and although it was insignifigant now, it would come to be an everyday practicality, and
nessecity. She turned slowly, only to let her eyes rest on her precious Gio, drinking in every detail. His green eyes caught her purple-blue
ones, and as his face broke out into a smile and he ran a hand through his short brown hair, something inside told her to run to him, to hold
tight and never let go.
"Aurelia," a voice whispered behind her, breath cool on her neck, reminding her of what she had set out to do. Glancing back at Gio, ahe
breathed the three words that had so ofter passed between them, I Love You. Without waiting for a response, she slopped out into the cool
night air, in search of a man who was more dangerous than she ever would have imagined. She shivered as the warmth of the club left her,
and the coldness of the night took it's place. Driven by her curisity and the incessant ringing in her ears which now repeated-
//Broucalaque, vide de sang, soon my love, soon//- she began walking blindly, heading to the edge of the parking lot where the woods
common to that area began.
Nearly an hour had passed and the temperature had dropped drastically, her leather jacket not doing much to protect her from the cold. By
this time the voices had stopped and she was, and felt, utterly and completley alone. Hot tears streamed down her cool cheeks, tears for
Gio, tears of hope, hope to wake up from this nightmare and be in her lover's arms again. She fancied she saw him before her, arms
outstreched to embrace her and tell her that everything was alright.
"Gio," she whispered, sinking down to her knees and burying her face in her hands.
"Why? Why did this happen to us?" She curled up against the trunk of a humongus pine tree and began to sob uncontrollably. Just when
she began to believe that this was the end of her short, meaningless life, a hand came to rest on her shoulder. She looked up at the person
standing behind her and jumped up in shock to see it was the very same man from the club.
"Y-you," she stammered, backing away slowly, "w-w-what are you doing here?"
"Oh come now Aurelia, I've come to answer your prayers," he replied calmly, smiling to reveal two tiny fangs. Her eyes widened, and
struck with terror and unsure of what else to do, she screamed.

Gio:
"Hey 'Lia, where you goin'," Gio asked grabbing her hand. She looked up into his eyes and before he could confirm what he saw was
terror, she glanced towards the door, leting her hand slip away from his absently. Looking past her, he realized Bailey was listening to the
whole thing, concern replacing her usual smile. She raised her eyebrows at him and walked up, silently standing next to Casey.
"I-I-I have to go to the bathroom," she stammered, disappearing into the sea of people.
"Weird," Casey said under his breath as he watched her go.
"In the words of Jeremy, women," Gio said, turning his back on the crowd and smiling half-heartedly at his friends.
"Bathroom?" Bailey asked, staring at Gio.
"Yeah, what about it?" he replied waving at some guys across the room.
"It's ove there, right?" she continued, pointing to the "back of the club."
"Yeah, so?" he said edgily, narrowing his eyes.
"So," Casey interjected," Aurelia is heading for the door."
"What? Where?" Gio demanded, scanning the crowd frantically. Anxiously, he ran a hand through his hair, his eyes finally locking with
hers. He smiled, confused, relieved, then confused again as she mouthed "I love you" and ran out the door without anothe word.
"Well..." Casey said, shoving his hands in his pockets, looking very uncomfortable.
"Well what?" Gio snapped, grabbing the collar of his shirt and shaking him roughly.
"Well are you going after her," Bailey said sharply, shoving Gio off of her boyfriend.
"Afte her," he repeated bluntly, laughing to himself,"after her. Bailey, she probably just wants some space, chics are like that."
"Chics?" Bailey mimiced. "Chics are just like that?" She moved closer. "I cannot believe you Gio, chics? Your girlfriend chases some tall,
dark stranger out at one in the morning when she could be with you and all you can say is chics are like that?" She glared at him for a
moment, sighed disgustedly, and began to make her way towards the door.
"Damnit, now look what you've done!" Casey shouted, shoving Gio out of the way and chasing Bailey out of the club. Gio started after
him, wondering if he should go after her.
"Maybe Bailey was right, oh God, what if.....what if she's suicidal. Aurelia means the world to me, without her....I'd be nothing. What am I
saying, 'Lia's happy with her life, yeah, she probably just needed some fresh air, I know how much she hates cigarette smoke, she DID
make me quit. Happy? How do I know she's happy? I think she is, but she never says much about it. Maybe it's me, maybe I'M the
problem. Maybe I make her unhappy but, but she's to nice to tell me. Oh, I'll never forgive myself. Wait, she loves me, she told me and
that's not an everyday thing. No, it's not ME, CAN'T be. Nah, Bailey's just PMSing. Yeah..."
"Hey G, where's everyone else?" Jeremy asked slapping Gio on the back.
"Gone, gone, gone...."he whispered.
"Gio, whatta sayin'" Sydney asked, holding one of his hands in both of hers.
"Aurelia left, Bailey went after her, and Casey went after Bailey. You think I should go after Aurelia, I-I'm..."Gio began to say scared but
his pride stopped him.
"Nah, don't worry about it toots. 'Lia's a big girl, she can take care of herself, yeah?"
"I guess you're right."
"Of course I'm right, I know these things, I'm a woman." He stared at her for a moment and held back his laughter. A woman, Sydney?
"Nah bitch, not even close," Gio thought to himself, temporarily forgetting Aurelia as the band started their second set.
